Following Hurricane Ike, many discovered that their insurance checks are not close to an adequate settlement amount. It is not too late; you can still get help with your claim!

Highway 45 looks like a shopping mall for lawyers. It is filled with billboards advertising attorneys who are “now accepting hurricane insurance claims”. Yard signs are all over town with companies and contractors trying to help negotiate insurance settlements. First of all, it is important to understand that it is illegal for a contractor to negotiate your insurance settlement. Secondly, many lawyers are not experienced with handling first party claims in insurance law, and therefore you could be taking a huge chance by trusting just anyone who claims to have experience. Lastly, if you are not ready to shell out 33% from your settlement to the lawyers, you should consider other, more affordable options.

Hiring an experienced licensed Public Insurance Adjuster is one of the best options available to have your claim settled. Many believe that the small payment an insurer offers up front is the end of the road but that is just not so. You can have your claim reviewed, at no charge, even if your insurer has made a payment. It is not too late to get help achieving a proper settlement. Insurance specialists at United States Public Adjusters (USPA) are available to review your insurance claim right now at absolutely no charge. USPA charges on a no cure no fee basis, that is, you only pay for services when USPA produces payment to you from your insurer.

“Filing appropriate paperwork on a timely basis is the key to an appropriate and efficient settlement. Our goal is to educate people on how to handle a claim on their own, if the need arises. The paperwork for proper processing is extremely industry specific, and must be done correctly. I know that many homeowners and business owners never read their insurance policy and that’s where the problem begins ” says Alex Step of USPA. “We employ over 40 licensed adjusters. Many of them used to work for insurance companies as adjusters, claims managers, directors, policy underwriters, estimators, examiners, general contractors and public adjusters. We have what it takes to recover maximum settlement from your insurance company in order to bring your property back to pre-loss conditions. Your insurance premium will not increase just because you are using a Public Adjuster” added Mr. Manasov of USPA.

USPA’s adjusters have a proven track record of settling millions of dollars in disputes with insurance companies after disasters such as: Hurricanes Wilma, Katrina, and Charlie, the tornado in Lady Lake and many others.

USPA is an “A” rated company by the Better Business Bureau. With hundreds of thank you letters from their former clients they are ready to help you with your insurance claim.

Insurance was once only offered by credit cards, but these days debit cards offer cardholders free insurance. Insurance types vary by card, with prestige cards offering more coverage than regular cards. Insurance types include travel insurance, extended warranties and purchase insurance.

Debit cards are becoming more and more common these days as consumers become less inclined to purchase goods on credit. In addition to their regular benefits, many debit cards are starting to offer various types of insurance – this is especially true of debit cards that are also purported to be prestige cards.

Insurance was once only available on credit cards. Credit cards make money off the consumer in a number of ways, mainly by charging interest, annual fees and other types of fees and charges. These fees can then be used by the credit card company to pay for the “free” insurance that they offer to consumers. Since debit cards do not charge interest and generally do not charge annual fees, the bank does not make as much money when consumers use these debit cards.

However, both debit and credit cards earn money in another way as well. Whenever the card (whether debit or credit) is used to purchase goods at a merchant, the card provider such as Visa or MasterCard charges the merchant a small fee, for the use of the card processing facility. Over time these fees add up – this money can then be used to provide cardholders with free insurance.

Types of insurance offered on debit cards

Debit cards offer a wide range of insurance to customers. Of course, the exact insurance types vary according to the card and the issuer. Debit cards which are prestige cards tend to offer greater insurance coverage and more insurance types than other debit cards.

Travel insurance is one of the more popular insurance types that is offered on debit cards. This type of insurance is activated whenever tickets are purchased using the debit card. Dependents are also sometimes covered by the insurance, if their tickets are purchased using the card.

Travel insurance can be used to cover inconvenience costs caused by delayed or cancelled flights. Some prestige cards also offer to cover the cost of medical care in foreign countries.

Purchase insurance is another type of insurance that is offered on debit cards. This insurance covers a wide range of damage or loss that might occur to goods purchased using the card. The cover usually includes theft, loss or breakage within the first three months of purchase.

Many debit cards also offer extended warranties, whereby the manufacturer’s warranty on an item purchased using the card is extended by the debit card company.

Advertising has evolved to create some highly intriguing and entertaining characters in recent years. Although it is a competition for our attention and our business, there is a certain art that comes with a well-conceived television advertisement. Take the famous Progressive insurance commercials for example.

These convey a neat, clean and easy to understand service, only further enhanced by the personality of Flo, the cheerful insurance representative.  She is always there to assist and mingle with customers while educating them on the coverage Progressive offers.

A visit to the company website parallels this almost enchanting tone. The site is also neat and clean, as well as easy to navigate. Customers can quickly access their policy details and see what discounts they are currently enjoying.

Although Flo may not actually “talk” to you on the site, her presence exists through helpful tips and articles offered there.  You can learn about a specific coverage or insurance in general.  This knowledge is a great tool in making a well-informed decision.

Each of the Progressive insurance commercials presents coverage that is neatly packaged in a blue and white box.  The labels are easy to read and Flo is always there to elaborate on the key points.  This may seem like a completely off the wall comparison to actual insurance buying, but with Progressive it really is not that inaccurate.

Insurance may be a confusing topic, however the Progressive website offers easy tabs so you can find the type of coverage you need. From there, just start a quote application and the rest is very self explanatory. Provide the information needed and you can get an accurate quote and make your decision. The Progressive insurance commercials may seem a little too simplistic, but the company does a wonderful job in following through with their message.

Being a professional brings many rewards.  Probably the most important reward is that the individual distinguished himself/herself from the other insurance population.  Instead of clients regarding one as just being an agent placing policies (like countless others) the insurance professional, with the various industry designations, is viewed differently.  Clients view insurance professionals as those who made a commitment to their profession.  The added recognition will help the insurance professional expand his/her business.  Another reward with being a professional would be the status and stature that one enjoys within the community.  People tend to look at professionals as community leaders.  All of us would rather speak with an accountant or with a CPA, about possible tax implications on our income, than a bookkeeper who has a basic high school degree.  Insurance professionals are treated the same way.  Why ask for advice about important insurance coverages from an insurance agent when a Chartered Life Underwriter or Chartered Financial Consultant lives in the same community?  Yes, status and stature are very important.

Another advantage of being a professional is the lucrative benefits to be gained. Countless studies have been done indicating the income spread between the higher echelon insurance professional and the rank and file agent.  We are not speaking of agents who attain the “million dollar table” or “top of the table” distinction.  These members earn more because they sell more.  The point being emphasized is that insurance professionals, with some type of designation, historically have earned more.  Why?  Simply put, those individuals made a time commitment to their business and have been rewarded for doing so.

Another reward for being a professional is the intangible benefit knowing that the advice given could help others reach their personal and financial goals.  Just as a doctor is
rewarded with the knowledge that he/she can heal a sick person, the insurance professional, armed with academic and technical knowledge, realizes that he/she can be instrumental in helping people plan for premature deaths, disability and emergencies.  Also, the insurance professional will play a major role in preparing clients for wonderful retirements.

Yes, being a professional has many awards.  It is demanding and requires many hours beyond the normal hours of business.  It also requires a strong code of ethics and higher academic standards.  However, it offers those individuals an opportunity to build lucrative practices, achieve independence through extensive prospecting techniques and leads to public recognition that cannot be emphasized enough.

Are you a driver in Georgia? Then you need to know about Georgia auto insurance laws and regulations. This state has one of the higher minimum required coverages for drivers in the country. Let us look at these requirements.

Like many other states, Georgia requires a minimum liability coverages for bodily injury and property damage. These minimum requirements are thus:

A minimum bodily injury liability cover of $25,000 per person and $50,000 for same cover per accident.

For property damage, there is a minimum required cover of $25,000 per accident.

If you are leasing a car or getting an auto loan, your lender or loan company would demand that your policy includes a Physical damage auto insurance cover though this is not at all mandatory by law. This covers your car against damage or loss. I guess the reason for this is pretty obvious.

You can reduce the rate you pay if you can improve your driving records, ensure your car is parked in a safe location, install security gadgets in your to reduce its likelihood of being stolen etc. All these are examples of discounts that you can take advantage of and there are a lot more of them. There is also the option of reducing your rates by increasing your deductible. Your deductible is the amount you choose to pay before your insurance policy comes into play. The higher you choose to pay from your pocket, the lower your rate would be and the lower you choose to pay from your pocket, the higher your rate would be. You need to be very careful here.

The first thing I always advise drivers to do is to get and compare quick auto insurance quotes. Auto insurance quotes is your best way of getting to find a very affordable auto insurance rate. When you have gotten and compared auto quotes, you can then go ahead to look at some of the suggestions above. There are many other ways that you can reduce your rates and talking with your insurance agent can help you take advantage of these money saving tips.

If at any time you feel you need to know something about auto insurance as it affects the state of Georgia, do not hesitate to call the Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office at 800-656-2298. They would be able to provide you with answers that would enable you get the most out of your auto insurance cover and also deal with any issues you may be having.

Do not forget to get and compare quotes.

Yacht insurance is very important for people who own yachts. It is a safety net for the yacht owner in case of accidents, damage to the yacht, or any kind of repairs that may be needed. Especially in the case of luxury yachts, yacht insurance becomes very essential, since the yachts themselves are expensive. And when these are rented out for charters, there is every possibility of minor or major damages to the yacht. This is where the insurance coverage helps, to cover the costs of repairing the yacht.

Having yacht insurance is not necessarily a compulsory obligation on the part of the owner, but yet most people go for one. It saves them a lot of worry and money as well. Also, insurance agencies will cover the costs even if the yacht is stolen or if parts of the yachts are stolen. Yacht insurance need not necessarily become an expensive affair. An insurance broker can set up a fixed quote for you to pa each month, which will reduce the overall cost that you pay to keep the insurance. However, when choosing the yacht insurance quote, you need to ensure that it is in accordance with the market standards.

Yacht insurance comes in different schemes. Some of them will cover costs only till the cost of the yacht, while others will cover costs of accessories as well. Owners who rent out yachts for charter will do well to take an insurance that covers both yacht and its accessories. One way of reducing the insurance quote costs of the yacht insurance will be to pay a larger amount in-excess, which is the initial payment that is made towards the scheme.

While taking yacht insurance, the agent needs to ensure that all the owners’ needs are met. The agent has to pay attention to minute details as well, and prepare a comprehensive and fully clear chart wherein the owner does not have any doubts with the yacht insurance policy.

Your spouse dies and you are aware that s/he had a sizable life insurance policy. You welcome your new acquired wealth but you are not certain how to handle it. For someone accustomed to handling large sums of money there is no problem but for the average person there is a disturbing uncertainty that doesn’t seem to leave your mind.

I have seen situations where the surviving spouse was so prepared that handling life insurance proceeds was like a walk in the park. On the other hand, I have also seen the good intentions of a loving spouse come to nothing because of the lack of a good plan.

Immediate Expenses

Upon the death of any individual there are certain instant expenses that come into play. You have to consider burial costs, probate costs, attorneys fees etc. Some people have sufficient cash on hand to take care of these things. For those who do not you should prioritize the task of proving the death of your loved one. A death certificate will be of great help. If there is a newspaper clipping of the circumstances of the persons death you should also provide a copy of it to the life insurance company.

You also need to prove that you are the person mentioned as primary beneficiary on the policy. A copy of your birth certificate as well as your marriage certificate will be of great help.

You will find that reputable life insurance companies will work with you and try to get the money into your hands as quickly as possible. If you can get into contact with the agent you will find that s/he will be a great help in expediting things.

How To Take Proceeds

You will need a lump sum to take care of the immediate costs arising from the death of your spouse but you should give serious thought to taking the bulk of the proceeds in the form of an income. If you are uncertain how to do this it is recommended that you use the “interest income” option until you have a chance to really think about what you want to do. The life insurance company will pay you the interest in whatever manner you choose. Your principal will remain in tact.

If the income of the deceased spouse was important to the standard in which you have become accustomed then it may be wise to take the proceeds in the form of a “life income”. You will never outlive it.

If your need for income is a temporary one then you may choose to use a “fixed period income” or a “fixed amount income” for whatever period you desire. Let us suppose you are age 55 when your spouse dies. Let us also suppose that you have a sizable pension that you will receive at age 62. You would then need to take the income you require for 7 years in order to maintain your lifestyle. You take the balance of the life insurance policy proceeds in a lump sum at that time.

Out of the many homeowners insurance companies currently in business, one always seems to be near the top of the list: State Farm. Currently providing service to about 13.5 million people, State Farm home insurance has been helping individuals for more than 60 years.

A standard State Farm home insurance policy includes coverage for your home’s structure as well as its contents and liability coverage. The policy will also provide external living expenses if your home is damaged to the point where it is beyond livable, and replacement for your possessions at their original value, not the depreciated value.

Policyholders are not the only ones who are aware of State Farm’s superior service. In a 2008 study, J.D. Power and Associates, a trusted name in surveying insurance providers, rated State Farm better than most in overall experience, policy offerings, and contacting the insurer.

For those of you who are interested in information about the types of discounts the company offers, look no further:

  1. Multiple line discount. If you already have State Farm auto insurance, then you’re in luck. By being a current policyholder, you are eligible for a discount on your homeowners insurance.
  2. Home alert discount. By installing smoke detectors, burglar alarms, and other safety features in your home, you can save big money on State Farm home insurance.

Consider State Farm Home Insurance

If you’re on the hunt for a reliable homeowners insurance company, consider State Farm. Consistently providing its policyholders with exceptional service, State Farm is one of the most recognized names in the industry. Don’t let a company’s reputation sway you, however. Do your own research and decide for yourself if State Farm home insurance is right for you.

When you are looking at or comparing different kinds of Florida medical malpractice insurance coverage, it is very common to be overwhelmed with how it works. It is almost essential for all medical professionals to carry some kind of medical malpractice insurance in order to protect themselves from any kind of lawsuit. In Florida for example, almost 6 percent of medical professionals do not have any kind of malpractice insurance coverage.

Rates of medical malpractice insurance coverage in Florida tends to vary depending on their field of work, or “scope”. This makes it extremely difficult for medical professionals to have any idea what kind of coverage they can expect from different companies. The best way to go about comparing medical malpractice insurance coverage rates is to look at similar rates in the same scope as well as geographic location. These two factors play the largest role in determining costs and coverage of medical malpractice insurance. For example, if you are are surgeon looking for help in Orlando, Florida, your medical malpractice insurance coverage rates will be much different from a heart specialist in Seattle, Washington.

A recent problem in medical professions across the country is the rising medical malpractice insurance coverage premiums. The term, “crisis”, has been used frequently to describe the problem of rising premiums for medical malpractice coverage, especially in Florida. Most premium costs that are becoming part of the crisis vary by state. Within that state, rising medical malpractice insurance coverage rates also vary by region. For example, insurance rates in an urban area such as Orlando, Florida are going up much more significantly than coverage rates in a more rural city like Gainesville, FL. Basically, if you are a medical professional looking for affordable affordable Florida medical malpractice insurance, you will see lower insurance coverage rates away from the big cities.

It is important to remember that malpractice insurance coverage should be an essential responsibility of every medical professional. It will protect you from all kinds of lawsuits that can arise from any type of situation. Even though there is a crisis when it comes to rising premium costs, there are many types of affordable malpractice insurance coverage out there. It is important that you look around and compare rates when you are looking for reliable Florida medical malpractice insurance coverage.

Uninsured Motorist (UIM) is part of every auto policy in Georgia (and most other states too).  It covers you and anyone in your car during an accident when you are hit by a hit and run driver, a driver that does not have automobile insurance, or a driver that does not have enough coverage.  At the end of 2008 the Georgia General Assembly passed Senate Bill 276 (effective January 1, 2009).  Now, insured’s can choose to elect one of two different Uninsured Motorist coverages, “Traditional” (some companies are calling this “Reduced”) or “Added On”.

Traditional coverage provides that you will have coverage UP TO your policy limits, regardless of the coverage of the person that hit you.

Example: You are rear ended at a stop sign

  • Total damage is $150,000
  • At fault driver has $50,000 in liability coverage
  • Your policy has $100,000 in Uninsured Motorist coverage (Traditional)
  • You will receive a TOTAL of $100,000 (50k from the other person’s insurance and 50k from your insurance).

Added On Uninsured Motorist coverage provides coverage IN ADDITION to the coverage of the person that hit you.

Same example above: You are rear ended at a stop sign

  • Total damage is $150,000
  • At fault driver has $50,000 in liability coverage
  • Your policy has $100,000 in Uninsured Motorist coverage (Added On)
  • You will receive a TOTAL of $150,000 (50K from the other person’s insurance PLUS 100k from your insurance)

Added On Uninsured Motorist coverage is more expensive than Traditional coverage (since, in some cases the insurance company will have to pay out more).  We know of several companies that changed their insured’s coverage by default, even though they may not have desired this increased coverage.  It is important to review your insurance documents and the level of coverage that you have.

When choosing the amount of Uninsured Motorist coverage, keep in mind, Georgia‘s minimum coverage laws allow people to drive with only $25,000 of coverage.

  1. This part of your auto insurance policy protects YOU.

While each person’s situation is different, most of our clients have at least $100,000 of Uninsured Motorist coverage…….

Exclusive Insurance Leads for the Local Agent

Are you looking to grow your insurance agency?  A few years ago the only option for an insurance agent was to purchase leads.  Most insurance agents will tell you that the leads services were of poor quality at best.  InsureMyHouse.com & InsureMyLife.org have taken a different approach, providing insurance agents with advertising exclusivity which ultimately generates target leads within their registered zip code.

How exactly does InsureMyHouse.com & InsureMyLife.org work? They provide valuable info to their visitors in the Learn the Basics section and they offer an online directory of local insurance agents. They allow for one insurance agent per zip code. This means that if someone is looking for Life or Homeowners Insurance and selects the zipcode that you have registered, you will be the only result.  The cost is only $80 per zip code per year.

Most people only get one or two quotes for insurance, whereas they provide their visitors with an easy way to find their local agent.  The directories are organized by state and zip code.

Since the company’s launch in 2004, they have established a significant online presence among the internets top search engines.  They have consistently grown each year in every state, generating over 100,000 visitors to the site each month with over 4,000 zip codes registered.

Insurance agents will benefit from:

*  Zip Code Exclusivity (only one agent per zip code)

*  Higher Response Rates

*  No Set-Up Fees

*  No Long Term Commitments

*  Photo/Image Uploads

*  Tracking Statistics

*  24 Hour Profile Maintenance

If you are an insurance agent you can learn more about getting listed in the directory by visiting the FAQ section.

Pennsylvania’s subsidized health insurance for low-income working people will likely end next month, officials on Gov.-elect Tom Corbett’s transition team said Tuesday, leaving more than 40,000 people with less palatable options and dashing the hopes of more than 400,000 on the waiting list. Easy To Insure ME has the answers

“AdultBasic is not sustainable,” said Kevin Harley, a spokesman for the transition, referring to the insurance program that began eight years ago under Gov. Tom Ridge, a Republican, and was expanded by outgoing Gov. Rendell, a Democrat.

Staff for the incoming and outgoing governors traded accusations Tuesday about who was responsible for the program’s demise, but both agreed that the money – a combination of tobacco-settlement revenues and donations from the state’s four Blue Cross plans – would run out around Feb. 28 and that no good alternative was in place.

“There is no apparent source of funds,” said David F. Simon, chairman of the transition team for insurance matters and chief legal counsel of Jefferson Health System.

To provide “as soft a landing as possible,” Simon said, the team had negotiated an agreement with the Blue Cross companies to waive their normal restriction on people with preexisting conditions who move from adultBasic to the Blues’ current Special Care plans for low-income people.

Those plans cost several times as much as adultBasic and provide far fewer benefits – a maximum of four doctor’s office visits a year for most issues, including both primary care and specialists, for example.

“Special care is horrible insurance,” said Gene Bishop, an internal medicine doctor at Pennsylvania Hospital and a physician consultant to the Pennsylvania Health Law Project, one of several advocacy groups that condemned the move.

“When I was in practice and I first saw someone with that insurance, I thought they were mistaken. Who would sell someone insurance that you can only go four times a year?” said Bishop. A doctor should see someone with diabetes at least that often, she said, just to meet medical guidelines for managing the person’s condition, not counting anything else that might happen, such as contracting the flu.

Kathy Dabanian, a 52-year-old house cleaner who lives in Sellersville, Bucks County, has been enrolled in adultBasic almost since the beginning, when doctors at Doylestown Hospital suspected she had Lyme disease.

Professional indemnity insurance supports you in paying the compensation to a third party, who may have suffered injury, loss or damage through any breach of duty, causing a quantifiable financial loss. Professional indemnity insurance, commonly known as pi insurance, is a financial instrument that indemnifies professionals against any legal liabilities, such as injury, loss or damage caused due to their professional negligence.

Broadly, there are three types of Professional indemnity insurance, namely breach of duty, civil liability, and negligent act, error or omission.

Negligent act, error or omission- is the narrowest form of cover that indemnifies the pi insurance holder against loss incurred only due to their negligent act, error or omission in carrying out the business of the policyholder. Breach of duty is a typical pi insurance that provides indemnity to the insured against the loss arising from any claim for breach of duty made to the insurers during the policy period. Civil liability is another form of Professional indemnity insurance that provides indemnity for any kind of civil liability. This includes breach of contract, libel, and slander

Professional indemnity insurance actually covers many aspects. The followings are the detailed list of the same.

  • Usually the duration of the policy is one year.

  • Premiums represent a particular part of a firm’s running costs

  • Professional indemnity insurance only covers the firm, not the interests of their client or any third parties.

  • PI insurance is written on a ‘claims made’ basis.

  • The policy pays only after the liability of the claimant is established.

  • In the event of a claim being made, the policy also covers the cost of legal defense

PI insurance saves the policyholder against any unfortunate situation of facing a legal action or claim arising out of the services he has provided as consultation. It is necessary to build up an understanding of your needs and risks before looking for professional indemnity insurance cover. Professional indemnity insurance is a powerful tool that saves you against any sort of uncertainties in your business that ends up with financial compensations. Understand your business needs and requirements and adopt Professional indemnity insurance coverage to deal with financial uncertainties.

Perhaps your insurance agency has embarked upon a new insurance agency website marketing plan. Your plan might include a comprehensive website redesign replete with updated branding and a contemporary look and feel. You may have hired a copyrighter or editor to punch up your content, and spent a significant amount of time ensuring information on all of your insurance lines are included on your new and improved insurance agency website. Hopefully you added a insurance agency blog and other types of dynamic content to improve your website stickiness. However, the question still remains, what have you done about your “call to action”?

According to businessdictionary.com a call to action is defined as, “The portion of an advertisement or marketing effort that requests that a consumer perform a specific action. Examples of calls to action include the purchase of a good or service or the completion of a questionnaire.” This is a good start to for our insurance agency website call to action discussion. There are many calls to action you can use on your insurance agency website:

  1. Click here to subscribe to our newsletter
  2. Click here to register for our workshop
  3. Click here to register for our next webinar
  4. Click here for a quote
  5. Click here to request additional information
  6. Click here to receive our case studies
  7. Click here to chat with a representative
  8. Click here to be connected with a licensed agent
  9. Click here to watch our video
  10. Click here to see what our clients have to say

These are just a few examples of insurance agency calls to action. The first 6 examples, which are boldfaced, would result in the receipt of contact information. A simple form would appear and your prospect would fill out a few fields, like name, company and email address. Items 7 and 8, noted in italics, would result in direct contact with agency personnel either via a text chat or live phone call. The last two items, 9 and 10 would result in additional insurance agency website review, with a goal of a more engaging call to action on an ensuing web page.

There are many more call to actions, though you certainly wouldn’t use all of these on any given insurance agency web page. In fact, most of the time, you should have one call to action per page, unless you’ve segmented you web page into specialty lines with each containing a clear, compelling and succinct call to action. With the increasing emphasis and importance of insurance agency websites as they pertain to an overall insurance agency marketing plan, the creation, position and type of call to action is extremely important to your overall web strategy. Remember, if your insurance agency plans to invest time or money in an overall insurance agency website marketing plan, which can include insurance search engine marketing, insurance agency SEO and possibly even agency PPC campaigns, you must ensure you have given significant consideration to your call to action.

Is full coverage dental insurance affordable to you? or rather can you go without the full coverage? If you have a family or in any case you need a lot of dental work to be done in the future then you should answer yes to the second question.

What full coverage dental insurance is all about?

As understood full coverage means that your dental insurance should pay for all of the procedures done by the dentist.

The coverage of course starts from your routine dentist visit for your mouth and gum examination and measurement.

The routine dentist visit once every six months for your teeth to be cleaned, scaled, flossed, and polished. All of this procedures should be 100% covered.

Full dental insurance should cover all of your teeth extraction expenses too. Regardless if the extractions are done so you can get braces or other orthodontic procedures or because the tooth was decayed or abscessed. This also includes the extraction for baby tooth or a wisdom tooth.

Full coverage dental insurance should also cover other procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, fluoride treatments, braces, gum surgery, dental implants, and many others.

It is quite expensive to carry a full coverage dental insurance, most people cannot afford it.

What is the alternatives to full coverage dental insurance?

One answer to that is a discount dental network plan.

With a discount dental network, dentists agree to provide services at reduced costs to network members. You will not be turned down for coverage due to pre-existing condition. Claims processing is easy with no complicated forms. There is no waiting period, and no one will be turned down for coverage.

Dentists who provide care through a discount dental network provide the same quality treatment to their network customers as they provide to their regular customers who have full  insurance coverage

Not all life insurance plans give fixed benefits, especially if it’s a ULIP. Still, there are life insurance policy which work out as fixed deposits of bank. These come under the category of life insurance plans with fixed or guaranteed plans. Often these are known as Endowment plans.

In this kind of life insurance plan you can make a once in a life time payment of the premium and reap the benefits. In this kind of insurance plan the maturity benefit you receive depends on the term selected and the amount paid as one time premium. Generally, this kind of insurance has the minimum age of insurance as 18years and maximum time as 60years. The total age covered is upto 75 years. The term for insurance generally is 5, 7, and 15 or 20 years, you can choose the term as per you capability.

This kind of life insurance is good as one can also take loan on the basis of this policy. However, for the first 3 years of taking policy you cannot take the loan. On the completion of the 3 year term, one can take the loan. The amount of loan approved depends entirely upon the number of years the policy has been taken.

In this kind of plan the life insurance cover increases every year to combat inflation. The life insurance plan also provides enhanced Accident Rider. This feature makes it a very good plan for those with low incomes and those who can invest a large amount once in a lifetime. Those who have also have a number of dependents, should also take this policy.

Generally, the premiums paid for the insurance qualify for tax rebate under Sec 88 of Income Tax Act, 1961 and the returns are fully exempted under Sec 10(10D). So, invest in an insurance policy and make your future life as easy as possible.

A number of Life Insurance Company like ICICI Prudential, HDFC Standard and Aegon Religare offer such insurance policies. Though all of them vary a little in terms of presentations, guidelines and benefits, still all of them work on the same base line as proposed by IRDA.

Professional indemnity insurance (PII) is a liability insurance and protects your business when there is claim for compensation due to any loss (financial/image damage) as a result of your professional negligence. Earlier accountants, surveyors, engineers, solicitors and architects were the major buyers of these insurance policies. However, the changed definition and dynamics of professionals now necessitated the demand for PII among people engaged in other sectors. Professional is a skilled human being capable of offering specialized advice and service. So, IT consultants, designers, doctors, artists, photographers, marketing and management consultants are now taking the help of PII cover to protect their professional interest.

When professional indemnity can help?

The professional indemnity insurance can offer you protection (only if the claim is made) in the following situations.

  1. If there is any negligence or breach of contract on your part
  2. If your unintentional infringement of intellectual property right causes a damage to the client
  3. Any sort of liable or slander
  4. Loss of the data provided by the client
  5. If any of your employees is found guilty is misappropriation of the clients’ money

Limitations of professional indemnity insurance policies

Professional Indemnity insurance does not offer you coverage against the claims above agreed amount, demand for compensation after the policy tenure (if not renewed) and specific vetoed activities. They do not protect you against any sort of environmental and pollution claims. Some of the insurers also do not offer coverage for overseas work. Another shortcoming of professional indemnity insurance policies are that they are for a specified period only and not for life. You never know when the client will file for compensation. If the client faces any problem after the expiry of the policy and files for compensation, you land in the problematic zone. In this regard long term professional indemnity insurance policies (if you can afford) should be given preference.

Consumers of health care coverage often pay too much for protection because they hold common misconceptions. Not understanding when employer-sponsored insurance is better than family medical protection and when it is not, making the wrong decisions about low deductible health coverage and not knowing an insurance agent’s role can be costly.

If you have ever shopped for a car you probably learned that that if you invested more effort researching cars, wind up spending less money for your automobile. Medical care insurance is no different. Knowing more about medical insurance can help you lower your costs.

Group health insurance is often. but not always, better than individual or family health insurance. Frequently it is a more expensive policy with lower benefits. Often a plan you can get on your own is much cheaper and also better..

Non group medical care coverage policies that you can buy without being part of a group is usually better-priced and has better benefits for people who are healthy. This is because medical care insurance companies are allowed to deny coverage to those who are less healthy for these types of policies. This means that the insurance company has fewer claims associated with the non-group policies. Consumers pay less for them.

Buying a contract on your own can give you more choices. If you are unhappy with the choices offered through your group medical plan, an individual policy may be available that has the features you want.

Buying low or zeo deductible medical protection contracts is often a costly mistake. Medical coverage policies that have 0 or no deductibles are usually too costly.

They sometimes offer better reimbursement than high deductible policies but sometimes the contract wording is misleading. Deductibles aren’t the only cost share. You may have a low deductible on a contract, but a high coinsurance or high copays. Your expenses might be thousands of dollars in cost shares for a zero deductible health care insurance plan.

High deductible policies, on the other hand, are usually much less expensive and will usually have similar levels of reimbursement for the big stuff. Most of the benefits you will receive in the hospital for a long admission period can be similar whether you choose a low deductible plan or a high deductible policy.

Being concerned about insurance broker fees can also mean you pay more than you should. Medical insurance agents are not allowed to charge you any fees. Their commissions are paid by the insurance company because the agent lowers the insurance carrier’s expenses by reducing what they have to pay for advertising and for their employee-agents.

A medical insurance agent can improve your shopping experience by giving you objective advice about the different insurance carriers. He or she can also save you a lot of time by giving you prices and information for the plans offered by several companies all at once.

Having a greater understanding of employer-sponsored health protection, deductible choices and a medical insurance broker’s role can save you both time and money. Learning more about medical care insurance can result in your getting a more affordable policy that is better for your needs and the medical insurance needs of your family.
