2016 Dodge Caravan CVP is the most flexible minivan in market

0 0

2016 Dodge Caravan CVP is an exceptional value among minivans as it is the most flexible of all the minivans today. Since minivans are all about utility, users can carry maximum number of passengers and cargo in these vans. They prefer Caravan over others as it comes with Stow ‘n Go feature that turns the passenger van into a cargo carrier.

DGC boasts one of the most useful interior with the ultimate flexible seating system. With plenty of space in every dimension, the first two rows of seats feel ultra-comfortable. The first row seats are firmer and spongy but second row seats are thinly padded for Stow ‘n Go function. Second row seats can be folded down into the floor with in a hassle free manner and the third row seats fold backward into the cargo well.

Stow ‘n Go is an exclusive feature of DGC but in 2016 Dodge Caravan CVP, it is made optional. The minivan comes with storage bins in the floor. The second row seats fit into the bins to open cargo space and when the seats are in use, the floor storage bins can be used for keeping personal belongings like backpacks and laptops. The deep well behind the third row of seats is 33 cubic feet in size and it is good for keeping a mix of items like a wine cooler, sports accessories and luggage.

Cargo space available with all seats folded in the floor bins and in the deep well is 143.8 cubic feet. This van can carry eight passengers and a mix of cargo and with seats folded the space available for cargo is sufficient for carrying a full-size sofa or large sheets of building material. There will be no dearth of space in CVP vans even when they don’t have Stow ‘n Go feature as floor storage bins are available in the vans.

New Dodge Grand Caravan CVP is driven by a 3.6L V6 engine. With 283 horsepower, the engine is close to rivals but none of the rivals that are likes of Honda and Toyota can match the acceleration of DGC. With six-speed automatic transmission, the van can reach zero to 60 mph in only 8 seconds. Mileage it gives is 20 mpg combined or 17/25 on city/highway conditions. DGC is a front-wheel-drive as the AWD has to be stopped from 2008 when the Stow ‘n Go feature was included.

Safety could be an issue with DGC but the results achieved in crash tests tell a different story. The van got four out of five stars in government crash tests and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also rated it good at road safety. But the van was tested poor in small-overlap frontal-offset impact tests.

Standard equipment available in 2016 Dodge Caravan CVP includes 17-inch steel wheels, dual-zone air-conditioning system, tilt-and-telescoping-steering-wheel and power locks. For entertainment, there is a four-speaker audio system. The entertainment system comes with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. CVP is a bargain price model of DGC.
